PriMed Urology

This is a new service developed between the collaboration of Consultant Urologists and General Practitioners across the North West. With an increasing demand for convenient, local, high quality services this group has been established to explore service redesign and develop new pathways in the field of urology.

With a growing population, the need for circumcisions for religious, social and cultural reasons with the appropriate expertise in the community, has led to this being the first pathway to be explored. With over a decade of experience in performing this procedure amongst the doctors, this service aims to go live April 2009. Primary sites will be around the Greater Manchester conurbation, with the intention of establishing satellite sites across the North West in the near future.

The clinicians would welcome the opportunity to explore pathway redesign with Primary Care Trusts and seek the opportunity to deliver NHS and private services.
